In this episode of the Essential Oil Revolution, I discuss all things related to the health of our liver.

I thought this would be a good topic to piggyback from our previous episode with Dr. Jenna Henderson. In case you missed it, she highlighted the importance of supporting kidney health. Unfortunately, the kidneys are commonly overlooked as a vital organ in integrative medicine, so this was a very important subject to cover. Our liver, on the other hand, is often not ignored.

In fact, if organs could win a popularity contest, it seems like our liver and gut would be the main contenders to receive the gold medal from holistic doctors. If you’re interested in holistic living, it would be rare to have not heard of the vital need to detoxify the liver and the importance of a healthy gut and its microbial inhabitants. These topics tend to get a lot of love from the press and the blogs of integrative healthcare providers.

In fact, one of the most popular trends in the health and wellness sphere, especially around this time of year, which is springtime, is cleansing. In this arena, the gut and liver are key players. (R, R, R) So, it’s important to understand their role in our health, especially with all the toxins we are up against in today’s world. Since I’ve already covered how essential oils support our microbiome, the liver is the star of this show.
