Listen to this blog in 7 minutes below.
In my Health, Healing and Wellness blog, The Season of the Heart & Heartbreak, I discussed that although holidays may bring yuletide cheer, there is evidence they also are associated with a time of increased heart problems!
I offered suggestions on how to assist someone who was struggling with a particularly intense emotional or physical stressor this season. During hard times, it is not so easy to simply “think positive,” many may need additional support. I discussed how using tools such as the power of social connection, mind-body techniques, exercise, hiring a professional, and self-care basics (the” formula for true health”), could all help to mitigate ones’ risk.
In this blog, I will give a brief summary of how essential oils can also help to alleviate some of the pressures that can occur with the holidays and protect the heart from negative effects that result from overstimulation.
I have explained previously how “essential oils have the ability to modulate our mind and body due to their biochemical properties, the influence of their odorants on our receptors, and the scents’ association to the subject.” I also recently highlighted how essential oils have been used for centuries for religious and spiritual traditions due to their benefits on the mind and body.
Emotional oils blends, which combine the psychologically beneficial effects of synergistic single essential oils, can be used to help one experience a desired change of mood.
I provided an example of this by outlining the oils in an emotional oil blend. This mixture of odors can not only act as safe and effective “scrooge eliminator”, it additionally provides an “olfactory boost” regardless of the time of year.
Below, I’ve categorized previous posts on how essential oils’ versatile nature can be used for our emotional and physical benefits, including for the heart , this holiday season and all year long. Please feel free to use them and pass them along to those who may need additional “olfaction fortification” this season.
