Hello dear friends.

If you’ve been following my work for a while, you probably know how I feel about essential oils for mental and emotional wellness. I believe they are the quickest and most effective way to support the brain, shift the mood, and help us with processing our feelings.

If you recall, I previously interviewed the world-renowned Dr. Perkus on the Essential Oil Revolution podcast. He is the founder of an incredible process that combines aromatherapy, psychology, and neuroscience. It’s called the Aroma Freedom Technique (AFT). With AFT, Dr. Perkus has taken the science of psychoaromatherapy and has made it accessible, user friendly, and practical. His technique has been described as the “fastest, gentlest, and easiest method to dissolve negative thoughts, feelings, and memories with essential oils.” In fact, it has become an international movement of aromatic freedom. Armed with this method, Dr. Perkus has been effectively helping people around the globe remove barriers that keep them stuck in negative patterns.

Dr. Perkus is a licensed Psychologist and an avid essential oil user. He has extensive training in various psychological approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Psychology, Meditative Awareness, and Trauma Therapy. He integrates these principals with the concepts of neuroplasticity and memory reconsolidation and the clinical use of essential oils to help others obtain their highest potential.

Today, I wanted to make you aware of a few amazing, timely resources that Dr. Perkus is providing. They can help to support your mood, help you release old beliefs, and enhance your motivation through using the power of scent and essential oils.

The first resource is his free online, live training sessions centered around AFT and several other of his Aroma Freedom techniques. These occur throughout the month of July 2024. Even if you missed some of them, replays are available and you can still join in the last few sessions.

I did several of his training courses as a refresher and was once again astonished at the power of his processes, as I’ve used them throughout my career personally and with clients.

In the first session we went through his Aroma Reset and Aroma Boost techniques. With the Aroma Reset, within a few minutes I was able to reset my nervous system and process overwhelm. Within about ten minutes I was able to overcome procrastination to a situation that was keeping me stuck using Aroma Boost.

Dr. Perkus reviewed the Aroma Reset in the interview I did with him on the Essential Oil Revolution, which I will link to in the resource section. As a preview, I’ll provide the steps that Dr. Perkus took us through during the show and in his live training. You can use this technique anytime you are feeling negative about anything to reset.

Here’s the Aroma Reset Steps:

  1. Identify the situation that is bothering you.
  2. Name the feeling, it should be one word that describes an emotion, not a thought or judgement.
  3. Locate where the feeling is in your body.
  4. Identify negative thoughts associated with the feeling (limiting beliefs).
  5. Smell essential oils- lavender, frankincense, and the stress away blend are recommended, but you can use any oil that is calming in this process. As you inhale the essential oil bring awareness to the feeling, emotion, and the thoughts without judgement. Eventually, you should feel a shift, but take your time with it.
  6. After you feel a shift, decide what to do next – either move on and go about your day, or, if the feeling is still there you may need to repeat the process or move onto a more intense method of AFT.

More details of this and his other techniques are laid out in his latest book…. Speaking of his book, that’s the second resource I wanted to share with you.

Dr. Perkus just released a new book, Aroma Freedom: Break Through to Your New Life with Aroma and Neuroscience. This is a transformative guide that explores the science behind aromatherapy and its merger with psychotherapy and neuroscience. The book is an expansion of Dr. Perkus’s first book and it’s divided into a four-part journey.

In Part 1, Dr. Perkus explores the foundations of Aroma Freedom. Here, he discusses the science behind aroma and memory and how essential oils are an ally to finding freedom and fulfillment in life.

In Part 2, the book goes deeper into the Inner Workings of Aroma Freedom and how results are achieved with Memory Reconsolidation. The Aroma Freedom Technique (AFT) and the Memory Resolution Technique (TMRT) are reviewed.

In Part 3, the quick and effective applications of the Aroma Reset, Boost, Wisdom, and Clear techniques are explored. These methods can be used to enhance focus, increase motivation, and manage worry.

In Part 4, you are offered insights on how to start your own Aroma Freedom adventure.

I really encourage you to access the resources Dr. Perkus is offering. I have no affiliation, but as I mentioned, I have used his techniques personally and have recommended his book and processes to my family and clients with incredible results. Dr. Perkus is truly revolutionizing how we deal with brain health, traumas, and how to release patterns that keep us stuck.

So, that’s what I wanted to share with you today in our clinical insights.

All the links to the resources are provided below.

Feel free to post your own experience with the processes and essential oils for emotional and brain health support.

Thanks for listening and take gentle care!
